Preparation before class: Wash all of your produce and have all ingredients out. Be sure to have your chopping board, sharp knife, blender, and your favorite pots and pans within arms reach as well!
INGREDIENTS
Pantry
- High heat oil of choice (like avocado oil, vegetable or canola oil)
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 cup dried hibiscus (also known as Jamaica) *can be found in mexican grocery stores,
- Amazon or you can buy hibiscus tea bags available at most grocery stores*
- 1 bottle of tequila blanco (we love the brands: cazadores, dobel, don Julio or la gritona)
- 8 ounce bottle of simple syrup
- 1/4 cup Margarita salt or cane sugar
- 3 (15 ounce) cans of beans (pinto or black beans; your choice) OR about 4 cups
- homemade cooked beans
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 12 ounces soy chorizo (I Like the Trader Joe’s brand, “el burrito” brand & “reynaldos”
- brand)
- 1 cup raw cashews or slivered blanched almonds
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 3 cups instant corn masa flour ( the brand I use is Maseca Instant Corn Masa)
- Favorite salsa (either store bought or homemade; peep my homemade salsas HERE.
- (optional) 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
Produce
- 6 ounces raspberries
- 6 ounces blackberries (or strawberries)
- 1 Orange
- 2 limes
- 1 large white or yellow onion
- 6 cloves garlic
- 1 jalapeño
- 2 lb Yukon gold potatoes
- 1 lemon
- 1 head of iceburg lettuce
- 1 bunch cilantro
- 2 ripe Avocados
